A relaxed weekend of bushcraft, shared skills, woodland camping and good company around the fire.
A winter weekend in the woods
The Winter Bushcraft Gathering is a chance to slow down, make camp and spend time with like-minded people in the Devon woodland. There will be a handful of demonstrations and informal skill-sharing sessions across the weekend, with plenty of time to practise, talk, relax around the communal fire and enjoy the camp.
This is a friendly gathering rather than a tightly scheduled two-day course. Complete beginners are welcome, while more experienced bushcrafters will have space to share ideas and enjoy a social weekend outdoors.
Shared Skills
Take part in relaxed demonstrations and informal sessions covering useful seasonal bushcraft skills. Confirmed session details will be shared before the event.
Bring, Swap & Sell
Bring along any bushcraft or outdoor kit you no longer use and feel free to swap it, sell it or give it away. There is no charge to take part and no formal setup — just an informal chance to pass useful kit on and see what other people have brought.
We’ll have an optional charity donation jar for anyone who would like to make a contribution after a swap or sale. Please only bring usable kit, and anything that hasn’t found a new home by the end of the weekend must go home with the person who brought it.
Woodland Camping
Bring your own tent, tarp or hammock and stay overnight in the woodland. The camping pitch is included in your ticket.
Optional yurt hire is £100 per yurt. Each furnished yurt sleeps up to five people. Add one Yurt ticket per yurt alongside the required Weekend Ticket(s). Yurt bookings close on Friday 13 November and availability is limited.
Campfire Evening
Gather around the main fire on Saturday evening. A light campfire supper is included; bring your own drinks, bowl, mug and cutlery.

Sunday
- Breakfast at your own camp
- Morning demonstration or shared-skills session
- Open practice and social time
- Closing fire and tidy-up
- Departure by 14:30

- Access to the gathering from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon

What to bring
If you are camping, bring your own tent, tarp or hammock and a suitable sleeping system; or add an optional Yurt ticket if you would prefer a furnished yurt. Everyone should bring warm waterproof clothing; sturdy footwear; a torch or headtorch; a bowl, mug and cutlery; a drinking bottle; and their own breakfast, lunches and snacks. Full joining instructions will be sent before the event.
Before you book
Who can attend?
Adults and young people aged 16–17 when accompanied by a paying adult. No previous bushcraft experience is required.
